"Armor Up" 05-28-23 Weekly Preview


Hello! Lots to talk about this week!

This last week I've been working on a potential system for visible armor, and it ended up being good enough that I'm going to start to add it in the next update. A sprite of Jenna will now appear in the top right corner of the screen and will change what armor it's showing based on the actual stuff she has equipped, like so:


Since the armor is going to be visible now, I also decided to simplify the armor types. Now there will be only Breast, Clitoris, and the new Neck armor, now with new item icons. These simplified types should make it easier to make new armor types in the future.

If you'd like a preview of what the armor'll look like on her, all the sets will be on my SubscribeStar.

For now, Jenna's worn armor will only show up while exploring, but I plan to try to get the armor into combat scenes as well, if possible. I also plan to use the new sprite in the corner to show the various effects Jenna might encounter while exploring. For example, showing if Jenna gets Inflated by a Trap, or has her breasts expanded by an enemy spell, etc.

Unfortunately, the new armor system does mean that the saves from previous versions won't be fully compatible with the next release, as the Item ID's are different between versions.

A minor thing that got changed this week was Jenna's side-view sprite for battles. It's pretty subtle, but I made her calves thicker because I felt they were weirdly thin, and I made her labia very slightly visible (literally two pixels) so she didn't look like a Barbie down there during idle animations. See if you can spot the difference, old sprite on the left, new on the right.
